Going to the Dogs Rescue – Perry, NY

Pet portraits is a branch of photography that has captured my heart in the past few years.  In one of the first issues of Pup Culture Magazine, my assignment was to photograph some doggies up for adoption through Going to the Dogs Rescue which is when I met the owner, Melissa Nichols.  Recently, Melissa had some new additions to her rescue family so I went down to visit them and we had a great time with them in the park.

The two adult dogs were Bridget (Beagle/Jack Russell mix) and Thunder (Pit-Bull mix).  Bridget played with Melissa’s kids and was so happy to have some free open space to run.  Something I didn’t know about Bridget the day we went to the park was that she had been partially paralyzed.  You can watch a recent story done by 13 WHAM News.  Thunder (a pit-bull mix)  played a game of Frisbee catch with us and couldn’t get enough of it.  She also had 4 ADORABLE pit-bull puppies (unnamed as of yet) who just turned 6 weeks old and were allowed in the grass for the first time.  Puppies should be kept indoors for the first 6 weeks because they are prone to worms and other serious diseases from the environment.

If you are considering a doggie as a new addition to your family, please contact Melissa at Going to the Dogs Rescue.  Its a nice drive down to Perry, NY and you can visit Letchworth State Park at the same time.
